NBA super star Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers announced Tuesday they will be giving away one million backpacks to kids in three Los Angeles area school districts. Uproxx reports that every student in the Moreno Valley Unified, Inglewood Unified and Los Angeles Unified school districts will get a backpack in hopes of reducing stress on low-income families. Leonard is an L.A. native, and attended school in L.A. Unified, where 80 percent of students were eligible for free or reduced lunch a year ago. Leonard and the team partnered with Baby2Baby in this effort, and the NBA Finals MVP called it "the right way to get started” as he begins his playing career in his hometown.
